The Burkett House was home to Joe Burkett who discovered the Burkett pecan tree in 1900.  Other popular historic destinations include Camp Salmon, Cisco Historic District, Connellee House, Ellison Springs and Fort Blair. Majestic Lake Leon, a reservoir lake on the Leon River, is stocked with largemouth bass, white crappie, catfish, and white bass.
